Al Stark is a Northern Rivers NSW-based artist working across the fields of public art, drawing, painting, installation, printmaking, performance and three-dimensional works.

He works with found objects and the waste of disposable consumables. His images reference forms of traditional indigenous and folk art throughout the world.

Starks' work thematically revolves around social and political human interactions, and seeks to raise questions by offering poetic visual narratives that entice critique though beauty.

The symbolism of fear, consumption, and gluttonous suicide sign-post the work, forming folk epitaphs for the end of the modern world - like poetry of the abyss.
